? telefunken: 33GL (T33GL);
Dear Gentleman
I need some help to complete the restoration of a Telefunken 33GL set
The questions are as follows.
1.- How is the assembly of the loudspeaker cone to the base.
2.- I suppose that there is an instructions diagram at the base plate of the set. Similarly to the TFK 33W. Does anybody have a photo of this to reproduce?
3.- In the circuit diagram it is shown a 10 nf capacitor in parallel with the loudspeaker. What kind of capacitor is this and where to install it?
Thanks in advance and best regards, Jose Vigil
Sehr geehrte Herren

Loudspeaker Cone
The cone is loose and only mounted in the middle to the pin of the magnetic system. The seam of the cone is placed on a round stripe of felt of approx. 5 mm thickness.
At the "WL" - Modells of the Telefunken 33 the capaciator is installed in parallel to the extra loudspeaker connector at the back cover. It is an axial paper capaciator.

TFK 33GL
Dear Rüdiger Walz.
Thanks for your response.
Please find attached three photos of the rear cover with the loudspeaker assembly. It is what I have.
I didn’t understand where to put the round stripe of felt.
About the condenser I will find a Siemens paper condenser to install it at the connector panel of the back cover. (the other paper condensers are Siemens)
Do you have the bottom cover instructions tag for the 33WL?
Best regards, Jose Vigil

Stripe of felt
The stripe of felt is placed in the space between the cone and the back cover as visible on your first foto. The cone consequently is fixed resiliently beween the center pin and the back cover.
I only have a copy of the bottom cover instruction of the Telefunken 12 W. A copy see here.

Felt strip
Very clear. Incidentally I have a piece of brown felt 1.2mm thick.
The idea is to bond two layers of it to stack up 2.4mm.
I make a circular sector from a straight strip of 5mm width using water and forming while wet. Then let it dry on a flat surface.
About the tag. Thanks for the information of the 12WL
I will redraw with the title TELEFUNKEN 33GL (=) using the figures of it, except the one in the middle that shows the valves used.
For this one I think something similar to the tag of the 33wl.
I will need some help for the legends in German regarding the dc supply
The base plate has six holes to riveting the tag. Very similar to the 33W.
The dimensions should be something close to 305X120mm. Please advise.
Best regards

Bodenplatte T33GL
Hallo Rüdiger Walz.
The set I have on hand has a stamped sheet metal instead as a bottom plate.
Painted plain black on the interior and wrinkle finish at the outside.
There are six holes on it for riveting the instructions tag.
It is similar to the one used in the 33W. Different size.
With the information that you sent to me about the 12W I redraw what should be a good replica to the original.
Please find it attached. I need some help in German to check the legends on it.
It is partial view for space reasons.
I already assembled the speaker with the felt strip. It works fine. Thanks a lot for the information.
Best regards, Jose Vigil
