I just got another beautiful old 1959 german radio, it is a telefunken sonata consol, one owner since new, the radio plays fine,  where I have a problem is in understanding how the recordplayer should work, it is a muti record changer type.I got the turntable working. I cannott get the pickup arm to function, It wants to stay at its parked position,it seems springloaded to stay there, I have lifted the works up out of the cabinet everything looks new, It is at this point that I am lost.  please help.m.rybikowsky

Dear Michael
I just have seen your post about your Telefunken Sonata. You are welcome here.

I hope that I can give you some hints to improve the possibility for getting good answers.
Please use the blue info buttons when you do your first postings.

1)
You posted into a general board where some tipps and tricks about repair are explained but NOT for a certain model.
Please go to your model for a posting - which I believe has no photo yet or it is not your model - yours perhaps being an export model.
Then you find a link below left for uploading pictures, schematics etc. or for writing a forum article.
If it is notyour model please upload your model by using the link "Create new entries" - and read the blue info button.

If you find your set, please upload some pictures if it has none. In your case you should also upload a picture which faces only the scale and one with the designation "plate" to enable us to distinguish between export variants etc. Also state the possible voltages of your model.

2)
Your article's title is not posed as a question. Many members will not open it this way.
Posted via model you find first a name in the title - and you follow with a short question like:
Can you help please?

For your radio it is now essential if the record changer was also made for the current you put the system in.
A photo (posted to the model) can tell us if your changer is original or has been built in later etc.

3)
I better close this thread. After you mailed to me that you opened a new one via the model page I will delete it.
I'm sure you will get good answers once a reader can understand which model you refere to and see some details might be essential (the changer, the scale, the naming of the model - perhaps with the line voltage(s).

By posting via model you have a much better chance that you get answers bcause the text comes in the forum PLUS on the model page. But most essentiel: Our answers are not lost but stick to the model! The next owner of such a model will also have the benefit of this.
RMorg is different!
