philips: Tube line-up of Philips 2514

Hello radio-friends,

I plan to restore my Philips 2514 to the most possible originality

 To that point, I encountered some unclear data: the tube lin-up

In Service-documentation by this model at RM, stays: E442, E415, B443 and 506K.

But, in the "Radio-Vademecum " by T.A.Staleman and "Het hart van uw radiotoestel" I found E442, E428, C453 and 506K.

Although tubes 2 and 3 are similar, I would like to know where this difference comes from and which is original?

Hello Dejan,

The service documentation is mentioning the original tube line-up. So if you want to restore to the most possible originality, this is the source to look at.

Many other documents and publications list tube line-ups with tubes that became available after the introduction of the model. The use of those tubes might lead to a better performance or a higher audio output.

The original tube set is E442, E415, B443 and 506K.

Now I'm shure that my restoration will be successful! I have all documentation I need: service and user manual, all in Dutch, maar gelukkig, ik spreek Nederlands, dus, geen problem!
