A puzzling aspect is the battery type. The B129 + AD39 use the 3 pin and larger 2 pin HT & LT connector (same as B126 and AD38) and that is what is on my Twin 50, with dabs of red marker on the solder, as on the internal solder joints of the set, suggesting a factory fitting.

But the B127 "combo" pack uses a 8 way + key socket  with keyed 4  pin + dummy key pin connector of "type W"

B129 + AD30 side by side is about 286 x 57 x 96mm max

B127 280 x 95 x 55 mm approx

The Public may have been suspicious of "balanced" combi packs and preferred the separate HT & LT?

I made up a box according to known dimensions as "chocolate box" style. I think it can take 5 off 10 x AA holders plus 6 AA = approximately 85V and have space for 5 x F cells (taken from PJ996 lantern packs), or 5 x Alkaline D cells.

(cells require insulation before series wiring for 7.5V nominal)

The box does fit in the Ultra Twin 50 compartment.
