I've got this unknown radio and I would like to know a little bit more about it. I think it is French but the back cover is missing. The output tube and the rectifier tube have been replaced by a newer type some time in the past. The remaining original tubes are EBF2, EF9, ECH3 and EM4. While this radio might be restorable, I think I won't be attempting it. This will probaly end up being a parts radio but it'd be nice to know which model it is. All answers will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hallo, it seems to be a Radiovox RV63 ALT (ALT means AC powered),
there is an image of a similar set on a french website.
You should propose this as a new model unter Radiovox (F),
I would do as as RV46, Variant ALT, is it correctly long (OL)/ medium (OM) and shortwaves (OC),
they have tube layout 6A8MG ; 6M7MG ; X ; X ; X ; 6AF7G and date the set to 1945?
hope that helps, kind regards

Hello Timo,

I own the same radio. RadioVox is a French company, the slogan "la voix de la radio" may be considered as "the voice of the radio".

The original output tube is EL3N, the rectifier tube is 1883. If you like to restore the original tubes, make sure the 1883 is heated with 5 Volts, since the power transformer seems also as being not the original one.
I don't have a circuit diagram, but I could probably scan the back cover if you desire.

Best Regards, Jacob

Thank you for the answers Martin and Jacob. The fact that the power transformer is not original convinces me even further that I won't try to restore it. I'll let it be as is in case someone would like to try it in the future.

Jacob, if you scan the back cover and perhaps take some other pictures too, I could propose this model to be added to the radiomuseum and you can add your pictures to it along with mine.

 Hello to all,

now I've made a scan of the back cover

and a preview front picture of my R.V.63 model.

As obvious, the location of the knobs is different on this version, although it's equally called R.V.63.

More pictures will follow, once the model is introduced in the radiomuseum.

I've already sent a hi-resolution picture of the back cover to Timo.

Best Regards,

Jacob

Thank you for the pictures, Jacob. I have now made the proposal of adding this model to the radiomuseum. I wasn't able to give much information so hopefully someone will be able to add more info.

Regards. Timo Haveri.

I displaced this thread to the new model.
