Such vernier dials were used e.g. in 1925 for a Browning Drake set. Which manufacturer may have used this logo ?

this is the Vernier dial

any idea ???

Greetings Konrad.

Those verniers were built by the National Company in Malden Massachusetts, USA.  You can see the letters N and C within the octohedral shape, which remained the letters in their later logo, shown in the picture below.

I do not know if the logo on your vernier is their first logo because I cannot find any trademark records.  There may be some other markings on the brass internal parts of the vernier as well.

Cheers!
Howard

Hi Howard,

thank you. I know this Company, but under a different address (110 Brookline St., Cambridge MA) from "The Radio Trade Directory", Vol.1, No.4, August 1925, p.56.

That let me have doubts. On the other hand there is the "Velvet" dial mentioned. I guess the item in question is such one.

Cambridge and Malden MA are only a few miles distant.

I am going to update the manuf. page and create a model page for the Velvet dial

Thanks again,
KoBi
