airzone: Valve line-up inconsistent with AWA 225
? airzone: Valve line-up inconsistent with AWA 225
I have an Airzone TV that the circuit matches perfectly with the AWA 225. This model, the Airzone A216T is claimed to be a rebadge of the AWA 225 but has a different valve line-up and two more diodes on the model page here.
I also see no other Airzone TV model listed with a valve and semiconductor line-up that matches the AWA 225 and match the Airzone badged TV in my possession.
Either the A216 is NOT a rebadge of the AWA 225 or the valve and semiconductor listing for this model is incorrect. I have not found any other AWA model that matches this valve and semiconductor line-up.
Perhaps the model page creator or another contributor could check the source of information for these rebadged AWA models and clear up this inconsistency.

airzone: Valve line-up inconsistent with AWA 225
The information regarding Airzone Model A216T being a clone of AWA Radiola Model 225 was sourced from a AWA/Airzone/Electrice/Westinghouse cross reference list published in Teletronics. Also comparing data for AWA/Airzone/Westinghouse TV models listed in Mingay's Price Service leads to the same conclusion.
All Airzone/Electrice/Westinghouse TV models were manufactured by AWA.
Is there a label in the cabinet showing the valve types and location? If so, would it be possible to upload a picture of it to this thread?

If that is the case, then the tube/semiconductor lineup listed for the Airzone A216T is incorrect. It should match that of the AWA Radiola 225 if it is indeed confirmed to be a clone of that model. Irrespective of my set, that is an inconsistency that needs explaining or addressing.
The label inside my set lists the valve lineup which directly matches that of the AWA 225. The cabinet design, knobs as well as other circuit details and set features also match that of the AWA 225 and only the AWA 225. Unfortunately, the actual model number of this set is not legible on the back panel.
I would love a copy of that cross reference list if there is some way you can send that to me or attach it in reply.

airzone: Valve line-up inconsistent with AWA 225
Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy. There is a simple explanation:
The author (me) inadvertently listed the valve line-up for Airzone Model A214 (AWA 223) in error and it didn't get picked at the time (25/11/2017).
Take note that the valve count for the Airzone A216T page is 17 (which is correct), yet there are 20 valves (including the CRT) listed.
My apologies for the confusion. You now have the opportunity to correct the valve line-up for the Airzone A216T model page as per AWA 225.

I can see how easy it would be for this happen with this tangled maze of different models!
I have updated the Airzone A216 page and the Westinghouse W216 page (which had the same inconsistency) to match the details of the AWA 225.
Thank you for the cross reference list. It may also be useful to others attempting to identify a model. Would it be appropriate for that image to be included somewhere on the AWA/Airzone/Westinghouse/Electrice manufacturer pages?
Thank you for your many contributions to this site. I have benefited many times from information on models you have added!
