Wurlitzer Amp 851 or 852
? Wurlitzer Amp 851 or 852
Hi
I recently got the following fragments of a Wurlitzer amplifier:
The chassis looks very much like a 851 .
The only obvious difference is the condensor on the chassis on the left side.
The two transformer-like structures are obviously the main choke and the mains transformer with 10 leads of the 851.
Could it be, that it is a chassis of a 852 oder 853 amp, i.e. the DC-version with vibrator?
Maybe the vibrator-circuit needed more space underneath so that the capacitor was moved to the outside. The vibrator itself was seperate anyway.
Does anybody have a picture of a 852 or 853?
Or could it simply be possible that the capacitor had to be replaced and it was easier to put it on top than underneath?
A second question:
In the same lot there were two smaller transformers (see pic below).
A bigger one with 4 leads and e smaller one with 5 leads.
They certainly were not mounted on top of this chassis.
The smaller one would fit below while the bigger one does not.
Does anybody have an idea to which amp type they might belong?
Could it be that the smaller one is the audio input transformer of the 851
and that it actually was mounted below?
Thanks for any hint.
