zenith: Zenith 5s319 broadcast band not working

Hello everyone, I am working on a zenith 5s319 and was hoping someone could help with my troubleshooting. The set performs well on automatic and shortwave bands but I recieve only quiet static on broadcast. I have gone through the alignment procedure accurately but this has not solved the problem. The set is re-capped, all resistors tested, and IF aligned. All I am able to pick up is a very faint signal up around 1500 kc from my signal generator. If anyone is able to suggest how I should troubleshoot this issue, please respond. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The radio has separate and independent  tuning circuits for automatic (push buttons) and manual operation. If automatic works you have to look to the manual ones, i.e. input RF circuit (#'1 & 2) as well as the oscillator circuits (# 3). Check the coils first, sometimes they have an interruption or the soldering at the base plate is off. Good luck,
