- The A-C Dayton model AC-98 belongs to the model line "Navigator series" which was introduced 1929, including the following models: XL-72 (battery model), AC98 and the consoles: AC9960, AC9970, AC9980, AC9990 and AC99100. According to "Vintage Radio 1887-1929" the model XL-71 of the same year does not belong to this series. The "Guide 1921-1932" notes for the Navigators: One dial (primary tuning control knob). This is a 4gang variable capacitor. The Navigator AC models feature a pretuner, being a bandfilter with 4 tuned circuits, fed to 5 untuned RF stages, power detector, 1 stage AF push-pull output. Power supply with full wave rectifier. "Bunis" up to edition 4 is wrong regarding supplied power.
