- Notes
-
The Admiral Y3383A is an AC operated 5 tube BC band clock radio. BC band frequency range is 535 to 1620kHz. Has Qty(1) 4" PM speaker and Qty(1) 3" x 5" Elliptical PM speaker. Cabinet color is White.
The following models use the same schematic and cabinet but have different cabinet colors:
Model Number Cabinet Color Y3381A Black Y3383A White Beitman Vol 25 of 1965 and SAMS 9-64, set 712, folder 5 list the following Admiral clock radios:
For chassis 5D6E: Y3543 (white), Y3554 (pink), Y3557 (beige) and Y3559 (blue).
For chassis 5D6F: Y3381A (Baltic black), Y3383A (ermine white) with two loudspeakers.
For chassis 5M6 : Y3564 (pink), Y3568 (green), Y3569 (turquoise), Y3573 white), Y3577 (beige) and Y3579 (blue)
These are AC 60 cycles clock radios with a loop antenna. The different chassis differ only in minor things like loop antenna, tuning capacitor version, clock versions etc. Except (perhaps) Y3543 and Y3564 the models have top push buttons. Slusser 7 names a model Y3383 "Marquis" for 1963.
Additional information:
Beitman lists on this same schematic - and SAMS Photofact in Date 7-64, set 704, folder 5 separately - the Admiral models Y3513, Y3517 and Y3519 for chassis 5K6 plus Y3321A and Y3323A with chassis 5D6D plus models Y3523, Y3528 and Y3529 with chassis 5L6. All are AC-DC 5 tube AM receivers with 6 tuned circuits with a loop antenna. Within a chassis they differ only in color.
Chassis 5D6E, 5K6 and 5M6 use one loudspeaker (T3) with 4" diameter. Chassis 5D6D and 5D6F use two loudspeakers in series (T4) and chassis 5L6 two in parallel (T5). It shows also four different dial stringings like for 5M6, 5D6D, 5D6F and 5L6 (missing 5K6 and 5D6E). There is a different "Precision wired system, 114E356-1 in 5K6 and 5L6 and 14E356-2 in 5D6D, 5D6E and 5D6F.
