  • Notes
  • The Knight-kit model 073 was Allied's first of three generations of "Wireless Broadcaster".  The wireless broadcaster has a separate preamplifier tube as distinct from Allied's phono oscillator models and can broadcast via a magnetic cartridge or dynamic / crystal microphone. Model 073 includes equalization for a magnetic cartridge. Ads claim the "oscillator circuit is capable of nearly 100% modulation, much higher than ordinary 'wireless oscillators' " Model 073 first appears in the 1949 catalog.  The succeding model 705 replaces it in the 1955 catalog.  Model 706 replaced the 705 in the 1959 catalog.
