  • Notes
  • After the crystal detector receiver 1001 from 1933, in October 1935, AMA designed and made China's first superheterodyne AM radio, model 1651 with five tubes - with a high profile cabinet. The broadcast band was for 550 to 1500 kc (kHz). AMA became the first company to commercialize radio production. Except for tubes and carbon resistors, AMA used its own made components such as RF/IF/power transformers and coils for the AMA 1651. The specification of 1651 is equal to imported models but could be sold for half the price of such, what was very attractive to consumers.
Careful: There were about 5 different models AMA 1651, the last, with a low profile cabinet, was made from 1939 to 1941. AMA had to stop its civilian radio production for 1942 to 1945. Following the 1651, AMA made model 1641, a four-tube model
