This was an updated version of the highly successful BAR-2 Broadcast Amplifier, this was designed for lower noise and power consumption.
Unfortunately, it was largely unsuccessful as by that stage there were many other versions available that were smaller and more cost effective and most of the original BAR-2's were still in operation.
