- Notes
-
Exists as two different versions:
- Model 1927: Emmco dials & tunning capacitors. No “Brach-Stats*” fitted, only one terminal panel, six UX199 valves.
- Model 1928: AWA dials & tunning capacitors. “Brach-Stats*” fitted, two terminal panels, four UX199 & two DEP410 valves.
*Brach-Stats for automatic filament control. Brach-Stats possess the unique property of automatically changing resistance with a varying “A” battery voltage. Thereby eliminating the need for hand rheostats and simplifying the operation of the radio. They are connected in series with the valve filaments. They protect the valves and lengthen their life many times. One Brach-Stat (according to type) can control any number of valves. Brach-stats are furnished on standard mountings in types to suit every valve, and are as easy to interchange as a fuse. From AWA Radio Guide, page 108. Other names: "Barretter tube", "Current regulator tube".
