This is the AWA manufactured version of the Wireless Set No. 19 MkII. It consists of three sections in the one case; designated A, B and I-C. It is intended primarily as a complete signal station in armoured fighting vehicles.
Section A is a transceiver covering 2 to 8 MHz for troop to troop or troop to base communications. It has a range of approximately 16 km. It is capable of operating in radiotelephone, continuous wave or modulated continuous wave modes.
Section B is a VHF transceiver covering 228 to 242 MHz for communication from vehicle to vehicle within a troop. Its range is approximately 1 km. Its mode is radiotelephone only.
Section I-C is an intercom for communication between personel within the vehicle.
The dimensions and weight given include the power supply unit [ Supply Units, No. 1 (Aust.) ], Carrier No. 1 and the protective covers. The matching power unit contains a multi-section genemotor.
