- Notes
-
This is one the first Transistor Portable in the Astor range, which also includes model APN. It was released in June 1958.
The circuit is very similar to that used in the GPN with minor component additions around the first AF stage. The GPN also uses a case which is very similar in appearance.
The dial scale is a pointer on a clear plastic disk with the stations marked on an aluminium panel behind it. One panel covers Victoria, SA, WA and Tasmania. Conversion to cover Queensland and NSW would require the use of a small spanner or pliers.
The first and second AF transistors may also be CK872's or STC type TS2's whilst the push/pull output pair may also be CK878's.
Cabinet case styling colours front and back: Tan/White, Lawn Green/White, Cherry Red/White, Charcoal/White, White/Tan, White/Lawn Green, White/Cherry Red & White/Charcoal.
