The chassis used for this model is also used by model 637 (table model, tombstone). Models AK 317 and 337 chassis are identical but for the dial arrangement. Atwater Kent introduced what he called the 'ARROW-LITE' tuning with 'Rainbow Dial' for the 1936 models. Riders index does list model 717, but points to 317/337 (no particular sheet for 717).
