Das ZM3-System wurde in DDR-Bildungseinrichtungen zur Darstellung der Eigenschaften von Mikrowellen eingesetzt. Die Sendefrequenz wird vom russischen Klystron K-19 bestimmt (ca. 9,5 GHz).
Zum System gehören noch Sende-Empfangsantenne (Hohlleiter) mit Tischstativ sowie verschiedene Tafeln aus Aluminium oder Pertinax.
