  • Notes
  • 115/230V, 50/60Hz, version of Boonton 260-A q-meter.

Range: direct measurement: Q=10-625, inductance: 0.09uH-130mH.

    Measured over frequency range: 50kHz-50MHz.

Can be extended down to 1kHz with external oscillator and 564-A coupling transformer.

Uses thermocouple meter, bottom, to measure amplitude of oscillator.  Care must be taken to keep the output within range of the meter, using the XQ coarse control, to avoid burning out the thermocouple.  Other meter, top, is moving-coil valve voltmeter measuring the amplitude of signal developed across a 0.02 ohm resistance in series with the tuned circuit under test.
