The V5 Amenities Receiver was intended to radio news and music to servicemen during WW2.
It was constructed with a very rigged steel case and was tropic proofed to prevent water ingress.
The radio is a 5 valve superhet with an RF stage. No rectifier is used as it runs from a synchronous vibrator from a 6 volt battery.
