This was a portable set (powered by an internal source of 7.5 V) that could be inserted into an underdash cradle and used as a car radio. When so used, the car's power supply, aerial and speaker are used. The cradle incorporates a further stage of amplification using the 2N301. The cradle could be adjusted for 6 or 12 volt cars, negative or positive earth.
