    Evolutions: 1969- Variants of Tapete System appeared- twin speed deck with tape speeds of 1.78 and 3.75 ips (frequency response 7 kHz and 12 kHz respectively).

    The Tapete System was the standard for the Electronic Talking Books supplied by Clarke & Smith until their demise in the late 1990's.
