The Clearco Crystal Steel Galena came in two different mountings: straight rim and flange rim. The straight rim originally sold for $0.15 USD; the flanged rim for $0.18 USD.
The early versions were sold from Clearco's original location at Idaho Springs, Colorado; later versions were sold from Clearco's later location at Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
They were awarded the Radio News Laboratories Certificate of Merit No. 877 in 1925.
The Howe Radio Receiver adopted the Clearco Crystal as the standard crystal used for their sets in 1925.
