  • Notes
  • The U Series (Late) are AC/DC operated, 5-tube, BC and SW band receivers.  Uses ballast tube L49C.  These are the versions that have no magic eye tuning; the E versions have magic eye.

Because the schematic shown on Rider's Vol. 9, page 9-2, is generic (since all of the later Uxx models have this same schematic), this model page is representative of all of the later Uxx models and listed here for reference only.  There are no actual "U" only models.

The updated UE model schematic (Rider's Vol. 9, p. 9-2) is very similar to the earlier model schematic (Rider's Vol. 8, p. 8-16).  Both versions use the same parts, however the eye tube is wired differently in the updated models.

Also note that the model names were clarified: the updated models now have no magic eye, and the UE models have magic eye; much less confusing than the prior U models where the with and without magic eye models were all models.

    Also uses a Bias Cell.
