The CR45 used Denco octal-based plug in coils in the green range. These had reaction windings to allow controlled RF feedback to increase the radio's sensitivity and selectivity. The coils could be changed via a sliding panel (see the photo) in the top of the metal cabinet, so that the user didn't have to reach around the back of the receiver.
