Grafonola Baby Regent

Baby Regent Grafonola, Columbia about 1914. Columbia's first internal horn machine (The 1907 Symphony Ground was in the shape of a miniature upright piano, a trend the company had for many years). You could have a desk or table Grafonola, of various types, with the mechanism usually contained in a drawer, with grates or shutters for acoustic regulation. The name Grafonola was the equivalent of Victor's Victrola and Edison's Amberola, but it never managed to establish itself in common use.

Baby Regent Grafonola, Columbia 1914 circa. La prima macchina a tromba interna della Columbia (Il Simphony Ground del 1907 aveva la forma di un pianoforte verticale in miniatura, tendenza, questa, che la casa ebbe per molti anni). Si potevano avere Grafonola a scrittoio o a tavola, di vario tipo, col meccanismo di solito contenuto in un cassetto, con grate o persiane per la regolazione acustica. Il nome Grafonola era l'equivalente del Victrola della Victor e dell'Amberola della Edison, ma non riuscì mai ad imporsi nell'uso comune.
