  • Notes
  • The Busy Bee Graphophone was manufactured by Columbia and marketed by the O'Neill-James Company of Chicago. It is exactly like Columbia's Type Q Graphophone except the mandrel is slightly larger diameter and it has a Busy Bee decal on the base. Columbia also produced special Busy Bee cylinder records with a slightly larger bore that fit onto this mandrel and provided them to O'Neill-James Company. Standard sized Edison, Columbia, and other brand cylinder records would not fit onto the Busy Bee mandrel, forcing owners to purchase only Busy Bee records.
