  • Notes
  • The RBS-2 covers 2 to 20 MHz in four ranges, has an RF amplifier stage, two stages for IF amplification, a BFO, a pulse noise limiter, and two stages of audio amplification primarily intended for headphones. The IF of 1255 kHz could be set to either broad or sharp. Filters in the audio preamp circuit limited signals to 3500 Hz. The tuning capacitor had four stages with one section used to reduce the converter-oscillator emissions to the antenna to limit radiation to well under the maximum of 400 picowatts, with a design maximum of 240 picowatts at 14 MHz. The receiver is powered by an external power supply with audio amplifer and speaker.

The receiver was manufactured by Stromberg-Carlson.
