The Conar Instruments 280 is an AC operated signal generator. Was available in both kit and assembled form. Uses Hartley oscillator circuit with 6 bands covering the frequency range of 170 khz to 60 MHz (for the old FM band). Harmonic frequency range extended past 120MHz. Built-in 400 Hz sine wave for AM modulation.
Initial kit cost was $21.50 (280UK), initial assembled and tested version was $31.50 (280WT).
