The Crosley model 817 Super 8 "Crosley Super Eight" is a three band, AC powered superheterodyne. It has push-pull pentode output, automatic volume control, and an 8" electro dynamic speaker. The bentwood style cabinet has front and side panels of highly figured quarter stripe walnut, trimmed with contrasting stump walnut bands and maple inlays. Two solid bronze, highly polished gold-finish bars traverse the grille. In 1938 the price dropped from 44.95 to 39.95.
The difference between the Crosley 817 and 818 is the pushbutton preset unit installed on the 818. Not present on the 817.
