Go to individual model 51 versions. Thank You.
Different versions are existing:
- layout: wave range switch moved from top (ealy) to bottom (late / regular);
- case: plain or decorative, even slant panel, simple knobs or more stylish dials;
- circuitry / tubes: regular / late models got a -C bias binding post;
Operating instructions (see tech.info) show a choice of completely different tube configurations:
2 x UV201A needs a 6 v storage "A" Battery
2 x WD12 uses 1.5 v dry "A" Battery
2 x UV199 requires 3 x 1.5 v (= 4.5 v) dry batteries plus socket adaptors.
Same is valid for the Cunningham equivalents.
Later models could also use the following combinations:
2 x UX199;
2 x UX201A;
and for increased output power:
UX201A and UX112A
UX201A and UX171A;
UX199 and UX120;
Later models have a terminal to connect a "C" bias battery in case of operation with an output tube of increased power: UX112A (max0.2 Watt); UX171A (max.0.7 Watt); UX120 (max.0.11 Watt).
