Crosley Pan American Tropical, CRO-46287, "Morale Builder" AM/SW radio coverage broadcast 540 to 1610 kHz and two SW 5.8 to 15.8 MHz. The chassis has 7 additional valve sockets for spare tubes, tone control, made for US Navy. Navy nomenclature: Model REP. Orange color label indicating "Warning. Do not use aboard ship. Unsafe radiation limits". After WWII sold to individuals under the "Pan American Tropical" brand which was painted on the reverse side of the warning plate.
Crosley also made an AC-DC wood-case 6 tube Navy "Morale Builder" Receiver as broadcast-only version for the Navy which was designated the REO and was Navy part number CRO-46286, Contract N5sr-7246, delivery date was 12/13/45. Both have provisions for connecting a phonograph input.Sold to civilians as surplus Navy REP receivers it was known as "Pan American Tropical", sold by Cincinnati Electronics.
