The Delco Model 3706551 is a Battery operated 9 Tube AM Receiver for Chevrolet Corvette Automobiles. Guest Anton Huffenberger, Armona, CA, USA, told us that this Delco Car Radio was used in the 1953 and 1954 Corvette with the 6 volt system.
In 1953 this radio was fitted to the entire production of 300 Corvettes. It was listed as Option 102B and cost $145.16.
It was also fitted to the entire production of 3640 Corvettes in 1954. It was listed as Option 102A and cost $145.15.
The same radio was used for both years, except all but the early 1954 radios had 640kHz and 1240kHz Conelrad national defence emergency markings.
