The imported brown and black Bakelite Ekco SW86s were common and popular in New Zealand in the mid 1930s. This console model has the same chassis and a 'Made in England' badge on the front, but the cabinet maker's label, inside, appears to indicate that the wooden console cabinet may have been made locally in Auckland.
