A good substitute for CR5 Selenium high voltage rectifier is SK3130 Si TV Damper Diode. The PIV is 1200. That is 150 volts less than the original. All is working well on the test bench at this time.
the NTE 506 is the available replacement for about three bucks ($) from NEWARK. This diode has 1500PIV.
NTE ELECTRONICS - NTE506 - STANDARD DIODE, 500mA, 1.5KV, AXIAL
Happy Repairs.
