Sendata series 700 modem for use with conventional telephone handsets.
This low-cost acoustic coupler is modular in design, easy to operate, and offers unsurpassed performance even when both ends of the connection are acoustically coupled.
The microphone unit is joined by a flexible coupling to the speaker unit, with rubber surrounds on each to attenuate external noise.
In operation, the Sendata coupler is wired to the transmitting computer and is attached to the handpiece of an ordinary telephone. It fits most modern telephone handpieces. The coupler converts the digital signals of the computer to analogue sounds.
Transmission speeds:
- Full Duplex: 300 BPS,
- Half Duplex: Up to 1200 BPS
Powered via terminal interface RS232 or from 9 Volt plug pack.
The Sendata is one of several high technology products made by Electro-Medical Engineering Pty Ltd, Armadale, Victoria. Sendata couplers are used in Europe either as original equipment components or in the aftermarket by computer suppliers.
