• This reel to reel magnetic tape unit has no motor on its own. The Tonebåndapparat is intended as an add-on unit for a gramophone. On the capstan there is a stroboscope for 78/45/33 rpm. It rests on the turntable and on two additional adjustable legs. A permanent magnet ("Slettemagnet") is for bulk erasure of the tape reel. The erasure magnet can be used to erase the reel of a magnetic tape by letting the reel rotate while holding the magnet against the top of the reel. The length of the magnet equals the reel diameter. The tape is a regular 1/4 inch tape. The magnetic surface is outwards as the tape runs in an "Omega" loop around the capstan with the record/reproduce head on one side and the pressure roll on the opposite side.
