  • The FADA model 70-Z Receiver is an all electric AC tube radio with console cabinet of "burl high lighed walnut", built-in dynamic speaker. Built-in loop antenna, push-pull audio amplifier. The chassis is the same for FADA 50, 70, 71 and 72 receivers.

    The radio service manual by Gernsback shows on page 148 and 149 the schematic and the "E-420" Electrical Unit - for all 4 receivers the same plus the "E-180" Electric Unit for FADA 50 and 70 receivers. Rider's FADA 1-25 shows the schematic for models 50, 70, 71, 72 and 50-Z and 70-Z and on page 1-26 the E-180 and E 180-Z electric unit (for all of them) for UX280 and power tubes UX171A and page 1-27 is for the E-420 and E-420Z for UX281 and power tube UX210 (10). Filament voltage and current are quite different! The FADA dealer price list of December 1st 1928 mentiones the FADA 70-E-180 FADA-70-Z with a dealer price of 204 $ and end price without tubes of 340 $.
