  • The Fairbanks Morse 8A is an AC operated, 8 tube BC, Police and SW band chassis used in various models. Has 8.5" dial with a 31:1 tuning ratio.  Also has AVC and 2 stage audio circuit.

    Band Frequency Ranges are as follows:
    BC Band......................540 - 1720kHz
    Police Band.................1.66 - 5.5MHz
    SW Band....................5.4 - 18.2MHz

    NOTE: 8A is the chassis number and NOT the model number.  Please post pictures of the radio's on the appropriate radio model page and NOT to this page.

    NOTE: Production changes were made to the 8A chassis and are documented in the changes section of Riders volume 10, page 10-1.
