  • The two capacitor-drive tuning dials are marked in wave lengths.  It is called the "Treasure Chest" model because it has brass handles on the side.  

    The output tube filament has a 4 Ohm resistor in series, producing a 1 Volt drop (.25 Amp for a 201A) to reduce the 6 V storage to 5 V filament. In case .5 Amp type shall be used, the series resistor can be paralleled with an other 4 Ohm. This is selectable by a jumper bridge on the chassis.

    The price listed is the suggested retail but the "street" price in catalogues is $54.00 (exclusive of speaker (US $15.25), tubes  (US $1.22/each), Batteries (B,C,and storage A) plus Trickle Charger (ca. $ 16.50) or power supply (US $35.70) and aerial (US $1.75).  Manufacturer's literature states:

    One stage transformer-coupled and two stages resistance-coupled audio section."

    The unit contains (see pictures) several of Carl Pfanstiel's recently patented innovations in radio design, including US Patent 1,614,151 (Radio Frequency Transformer), US Patent 1,477,185 (Dial Adjuster), US Patent 1,712,165 (Multiple Condensers), US Patent 1,670,782 (Radio Frequency Amplifier) and US Patent 1,701,244 (Support for Variable Condensers).
