Similar looking case to the RAD 26 & RAD 29 but this model has marine band and short wave. The method of construction of the case enables different external front and side panels to be screwed on.
MB coverage 1.7 to 4.5 MHz, SW coverage 5.8 to 15.5 MHz.
Uses mains and PP9 battery. On AC Mains the BC440 is a simple series regulator without voltage reference to reduce hum.
Alternate Output circuit
Some models are fitted with AC127 & AC128 germanium transistors (instead of BC464 & BC465 with ACA129 (similar to AC126 with base & collector shorted) as bias diode instead of T6F bias transistor. For both versions the BC148 is the audio driver, the actual output stage is a complementary Emitter follower "totem pole" with thus no gain.
