  • Notes
  • The FUNcube Dongle is available in two versions: the entry-level model, and the Pro version. The entry-level model provides access to the satellite frequency band used by FUNcube and other satellites. The Pro version offers a wider frequency range, covering 64 to 1700MHz with a gap between 1100MHz and 1270MHz.

The FUNcube Dongle Pro+ is a software-defined radio (SDR) developed by Howard Long of Hanlincrest Ltd as a low-cost ground receiver for the FUNcube satellite project, initially supported by AMSAT-UK and the Radio Communications Foundation (RCF). While the device has various applications, the primary goal of the project is to encourage young people to explore radio, space, physics, and electronics through practical demonstrations.

    Minimum frequency range 150 kHz - 240 MHz and 420 MHz - 1.9 GHz
    (Typically 150 kHz - 260 MHz and 410 MHz - 2.05 GHz)
Front end LNA OIP3 30 dB

    Typical noise figures:

    • 50 MHz 2.5 dB
    • 145 MHz 3.5 dB
    • 435 MHz 3.5 dB
    • 1296 MHz 5.5 dB

Sensitivity typically 0.15 µV at 145 MHz and 435 MHz for 12 dB SINAD NBFM
Reference TCXO 26 MHz 1.5 ppm
    Sampling rate 192 kHz
Bit depth 16 bits. (32 bits used internally)
    Antenna port standard SMA female
PC interface USB 1.x type A male connection running at full speed (12 Mbps)
No additional drivers are required for Linux, MacOS or Windows
    Firmware is user upgradeable

The six-layer pcb has 240 parts, including 21 ICs, 122 capacitors and 49 inductors.
