  • The Strobotac Type 631-BLS3 is the equivalent to the Type 631-BL, with the exception of the Power Supply requirements, being 50 Hz as opposed to 60 Hz. The 631-BLS3 was first listed along side the Type 631-BL and Type 631-BLS8 in the General Radio Catalog O (1956), which was reprinted in September 1957. The Type 631-BLS3 would not be relisted in Catalog Q (1961), which introduced the new Strobotac Type 1531-A.

Regarding the Strobotac's Strobotron Cold-Cathode Neon Flash Tube, the Type 631-P1 is listed for all variants of the Strobotac Type 631 series.

Regarding the Strobotac's Full-Wave Rectifier and Power-Amplifier Twin Triode, the General Radio Catalog M (1951) and subsequent catalogs list the Rectifier and Triode as 6X5-GT/G and 6N7-GT/G.

Regarding the Power Consumption of the Strobotac, the Type 631-BLS3 is listed at 35 Watts Maximum in Catalog O (1956) and subsequent catalog listings.

Regarding the Strobotac's Weight, Catalog O (1956) listed it at 9.5 lbs. As a comparison, the Type 631-A was listed at 12 lbs in Catalog J (1936), while the Type 631-B varied between 8.75 and 10 lbs during its production.

    Regarding the Strobotac's Dimensions, General Radio Catalog O (1956) lists the Type 631-BLS3 to measure as follows:  W 7.625" x L 9" x H 10".

Regarding the Strobotac's Power Supply, Catalog O (1956) through Catalog P (1959) lists the range of 105-125 Volts at 50 Hz.

Regarding the Strobotac's Accuracy, Catalog O (1956) through Catalog P (1959) list +/- 1% of the dial reading above 900 rpm when the Strobotac is standardized in terms of a frequency-controlled power line (50 Hz, for this example).

Regarding the Combination of the Strobotac Type 631-BLS3 with higher intensity light producing units, the Strobolux Type 648-A is to be used in combination with Strobotac Type 631-BLS3 when operating above 600 rpm. The Strobolume Type 1532-B is to be used in combination with the Strobotac Type 631-BLS3 when it is operating below 600 rpm.
