The 4 199 tubes are visible on the GN-3. There are two main dials (primary tuning control knobs).
The original sockets will only accept UV-199 tubes. The chassis is wired for that vacuum tube base configuration. The tube socket board is supported by round rubber tubing on 4 corners to limit microphonics.
