  • Notes
  • The Gonset Model 3311 is a 12Vdc Operated Universal Type Automobile FM Converter.
Demodulated FM-AF modulates a low power BC oscillator at about 800 kHz for feeding an AM-only car radio. Uses seven low voltage 'Space Charge' tubes (12V plate voltage) that were engineered in 2nd half of the 50's to avoid use of 'vibrators', before that reliable (and not too expensive) transistors were available (especially RF). The converter could be screwed on the bottom side of the dasboard (faceplate front), or directly on the dasboard itself, when suitable space and location are available.
