The ‘Style No.5 Gramophone’ is the direct descendent of the original Trade Mark Model. Based on Eldridge Johnsons' improved version, it was first available in 1898. The spring is enclosed in a nickelled cast-iron casing protruding from the rear of the machine. The motor is housed in an oak case on a similar base, from which a cast-iron arm rises upward to support the oak traveling arm.
