The Grundig Classic International 960 AM/FM/SW Stereo Table Radio was introduced on the occasion of Grundig's 50 year anniversary. The logo and documentation reprise the 1950s style of Grundig-Majestic.
Wave bands:
- FM: 88 - 108 MHz
- SW1: 3.2 - 7.3 MHz
- SW2: 9.5 - 21.75 MHz
- MW: 530 - 1710 kHz
It has bass and treble tone control and AUX RCA connectors. Three speakers are built in: one 4" (front) and two 3" (sides). The set has a ferrite bar antenna for AM and uses the mains cable as FM antenna. An auxiliary SW antenna (20 ft) is supplied with the radio and connects via jack. An external antenna can be connected to screw-type terminals on the back.
Later models (ca. 2000) have a dial with differing wave bands (SW1: ~2.3 - 7.3 MHz, SW2: ~7.2 - 22.2 MHz); however the back cover still states the original frequency ranges. Some models come with a Grundig AN-03 type SW antenna.
See also Classic 960 Anniversary Edition 2nd edition with different SW bands, an antenna input switch and increased audio output power.
The dial scale has "Grundig Germany" printed on it. Made in China for Grundig, 3520 Haven Avenue, Redwood City, CA 94063.
