Hi:
Being a newbie I made a mistake today. I should be studying theory before diving in.
I was excited to work on my Grundig Majestic 1041 W. This radio worked Ok on FM but not on other bands.
I tested the tubes, only one was questionable . EL 41
I found a few bad capacitors ( tested bad on a capacitor checker).
After installing the new caps, mostly underneath, I turned on the radio. I saw smoke coming from underneath. Plugged it out.
It was a 1,5K Ohm resistor ( black in color, brand "Rosen" ) I also noticed that I may have moved the resistor since it was touching an adjacent solder.
Removed the resistor and installed a similar one.
Still smoke and the resistor heats up.
What have I done?
Sincerely
M Khan

Hi:
I am new to the forum. I was very impressed that I received a confirmation letter from Switzerland in a few days. I live in Princeton, NJ USA.
I need scematics for Grundig Majextic 1041. I just bought a set from Ebay. The Fm works OK but the rest is very weak.
Thanks
M Khan
