- Notes
-
Hallicrafters model 5R32A is an AC-DC operated AM superheterodyne receiver.
The Hallicrafters model 5R30A series is similar to the 5R30 series. The difference is unknown, although Hallicrafters used several different tube line-ups in the 5R30A series. Depending on the production run, some used all octal tubes (12SA7, 12SK7, 12SQ7, 35Z5, 50L6), some used all miniatures (12AV6, 12BA6, 12BE6, 35W4, 50C5), while some used a combination of both (usually 12AV6, 12SA7, 12SK7, 35Z5, 50C5). The center control knob functions as the "on-off-volume" control, while the left knob is for "tuning" and the right knob is the "bandswitch." The different model numbers within the 5R30A series denotes different color cabinet and knobs. The 5R32A is taupe with white center knob and taupe tuning and bandswitch knobs.
